The founders of COBRA were dissidents of the aNiMaLz-Goons Conflict (with the exception of Lucius, who created the AA from another location). On May 24 of 2015, they seceded from aNiMaLz for several reasons; mainly a lack of aid and personal grievances. The rank of Mandarin became a leadership role. A precursor to King.
A Declaration of Existence was posted on July 19, 2015. the first Mandarin was announced; Inquisitor Severus, with his brother Lucius as his Advisor.

Having been schooled in the art of Tech Raiding, COBRA began as a self-proclaimed Criminal Syndicate. Forced Recruitment was the law.
But that Raider's Paradise didn't last long.
The rogue remnants of GOONS were on a killing spree around Planet Bob.
In September of 2015, they reached the COBRA foothills and unleashed a series of Raids that culminated in nuclear fire against the young Alliance.
The Mandarin at the time was a 12-year-old who had been elected (for some fucking reason) to rule COBRA because Severus chose to step down. Vikkstar's leadership was useless during the Goons crisis, and many did not consider his rule legitimate from the beginning.

After a couple of rounds, other Alliances began to notice COBRA.
A Ruler by the name of Methrage offered military assistance in exchange for votes on Brown Team Senate.
But Methrage and his entire Bloc of Alliances (Libertarian Party of Cybernations) was already at blows with the rogue Goons. An Ambassador from COBRA named General Kanabis made contact with Kashmir in hopes of signing a legitimate Protection Treaty, because he feared COBRA was becoming a puppet state.
The situation escalated when a rogue member of Kashmir named Blackenberg, attacked COBRA because of the LPC affiliation.
Through a series of negotiations, Kashmir paid reparations to the afflicted nations and pledged to protect COBRA under a formal Treaty (known to COBRA as the Treaty of Blackenberg).
Kashmir also granted COBRA full voting and Team Color rights, which allowed individual members to continue participating in all LPC affairs of a political nature.
Many LPC Bloc members viewed this as a betrayal, but the Treaty effectively ended the Goons Conflict through individual negotiations brought about by Kashmir's King, the honorable SirWilliam.
It was around this time that Jack Layton was chosen to be the first foreigner allowed to visit COBRA.
He was designated COBRA's official Military Advisor and trained its members to defend the AA against external attacks.

Inquisitor Severus chose to leave COBRA during the political fiasco between the LPC and Kashmir (he eventually deleted his nation and rerolled). Lucius had been away in a different AA for some time, but he returned to COBRA when his brother left and he assumed the role of Mandarin with the approval of the Royal Guard.
Under Lucius, COBRA members became involved in a broader range of foreign conflicts, specifically through the use of ghosts.

Overtime, COBRA became stagnant, and more so when Lucius Optimus went inactive. With the absence of a leader, a new one took his place.
The Royal Guard approved General Kanabis as their new Mandarin on January 13th of 2016.

The title has since been renamed. COBRA is no longer a Criminal Syndicate, but a Federal Monarchy led by the King Cobra.
